This guide walks you through the essential steps to get your Bookwell instance ready for bookings.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Access to your Bookwell admin dashboard
- Your business information (name, address, contact details)
- At least one service you want to offer
- Staff member availability information
Step 1: Configure Your Business
First, set up your basic business information.
Access Business Settings
Navigate to Settings > Business from the admin dashboard.
Enter Business Details
Fill in your business information:
- Business name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Time zone
Set Operating Hours
Define your business hours for each day of the week. These determine when customers can book appointments.
Step 2: Add Your Services
Services are what customers book. Create at least one service to accept bookings.
Navigate to Services
Go to Services from the main navigation.
Create a Service
Click Add Service and enter:
- Service name
- Description
- Duration (in minutes)
- Price
- Category (optional)
Configure Options
Set additional options:
- Buffer time between appointments
- Booking lead time requirements
- Cancellation policy
Pro Tip
Start with your most popular service. You can always add more services later.
Step 3: Add Staff Members
Add therapists or staff who will provide services.
Go to Staff Management
Navigate to Staff > Therapists from the admin dashboard.
Add a Staff Member
Click Add Therapist and enter:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Services they can provide
Set Their Schedule
Define their working hours and availability for each day of the week.
Step 4: Test a Booking
Before going live, test the booking flow yourself.
Open the Booking Page
Visit your public booking URL or click Preview Booking Page from the dashboard.
Select a Service
Choose a service from the available options.
Pick a Time
Select an available date and time slot.
Complete the Booking
Enter test customer details and complete the booking.
Test bookings appear in your admin dashboard. Remember to cancel them after testing.
Step 5: Share Your Booking Link
Once everything looks good, share your booking link with customers.
You can find your booking URL in Settings > Booking Page. Share it via:
- Your website
- Social media
- Email signatures
- Google Business Profile
