Dashboard

Navigate the Bookwell admin dashboard and understand your key business metrics.

The dashboard is your central hub for monitoring business performance and accessing key features.

Dashboard Overview

When you log in, you'll see the main dashboard with several sections:

Today's Summary

The top section shows at-a-glance metrics:

  • Appointments Today - Number of bookings scheduled
  • Revenue Today - Total confirmed revenue
  • New Customers - First-time bookings
  • Occupancy Rate - Booked slots vs. available

Upcoming Appointments

A list of the next appointments across all therapists, showing:

  • Time and duration
  • Customer name
  • Service
  • Assigned therapist
  • Status

Click any appointment to view details or make changes.

Calendar Quick View

A mini calendar showing booking density for the current week. Colors indicate:

  • Green - Low occupancy (lots of availability)
  • Yellow - Moderate occupancy
  • Red - High occupancy (nearly full)

The left sidebar provides access to all features:

Quick Actions

The top-right corner provides quick actions:

  • + New Appointment - Book an appointment manually
  • Search - Find customers, appointments, or services
  • Notifications - View alerts and updates
  • Profile - Your admin profile settings

Customizing Your Dashboard

Rearranging Widgets

You can customize which information appears on your dashboard:

  1. Click Customize in the top right
  2. Drag widgets to reorder them
  3. Toggle widgets on/off using the eye icon
  4. Click Save Layout

Date Range Selection

Most metrics support custom date ranges:

  1. Click the date range dropdown
  2. Select a preset (Today, This Week, This Month, etc.)
  3. Or choose Custom Range to pick specific dates

Dashboard Metrics Explained

Revenue Metrics

Revenue figures show confirmed payments only. Pending payments are shown separately.

  • Gross Revenue - Total amount collected
  • Net Revenue - After refunds and fees
  • Average Booking Value - Revenue divided by bookings

Booking Metrics

  • Total Bookings - All confirmed appointments
  • Cancellations - Appointments cancelled
  • No-Shows - Customers who didn't arrive
  • Rescheduled - Appointments moved to a new time

Customer Metrics

  • New Customers - First-time bookers
  • Returning Customers - Customers with previous bookings
  • Retention Rate - Percentage who book again

Notifications

The notification bell shows:

  • New bookings
  • Cancellation requests
  • Low inventory alerts (if applicable)
  • Staff schedule changes
  • System updates

Notification Settings

Configure what notifications you receive:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Toggle notification types on/off
  3. Choose delivery method (in-app, email, SMS)
  4. Set quiet hours if desired

Best Practices

Daily Review

Start each day by:

  1. Checking today's appointments
  2. Reviewing any cancellations or changes
  3. Verifying staff coverage
  4. Noting any VIP customers or special requests

Weekly Review

Once a week, review:

  1. Week-over-week booking trends
  2. Revenue performance
  3. Customer feedback
  4. Staff utilization
